Gone Fishin'
Hello you life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Okay Platypus crew. I admit defeat. I am in New Brunswick this week spending time with my parents as Mom recovers from surgery, and so between the household duties, my existing (many) virtual commitments, and the summery weather-- I simply have not been able to conjure the time to research and write an essay for this week. So I am officially declaring this a Gone Fishin' dispatch.
So instead, I thought I would send along a couple of favourite old-school dispatches from 2019 for you to enjoy perusing on this beautiful August Sunday morning. Enjoy this mini-trip down memory lane:
It is what it is seems like an appropriate place to start...
The key to the meaning of it all? Consciousness my dear Watson!
Do you have any favourites not on this list? Please let me know what I missed!
But wait! Perhaps all of this talk of taking breaks is feeling a bit too laksidasical on a sunny Sunday morning? Then get back into real life in a positive way by checking out the recent good news about the pandemic that you might have missed
Still too much realness? Then I INSIST you watch this video about researchers trying to recreate the sound of early neanderthal speech... seriously, it is one of the funniest things I have seen in decades.
From one can't-quite-pull-it-together person to another, I am glad that we can take space when we need to together. I hope you enjoyed this dispatch, and have an achievement-filled week!
Until next Sunday,
The Earnest Platypus
